Divided Societies XXV and XXVI
Mitja Žagar from LEGITIMULT delivered two presentations titled “Is a New Social Contract Possible? Polarisation vs. Open Inclusive Public Dialogue” in 2024 and “Can Democracy Survive the Age of Populism,
Autocracy and Totalitarianism?” in 2025 at the “Divided Societies XXV” and “Divided Societies XXVI” programmes, held at the Inter‑University Centre in Dubrovnik.
This program focused on political polarisation in contemporary societies, exploring themes such as social cleavages, ethnonational relations, the impact of digital media, and the dynamics of political conflict and division. The course brought together students and scholars from diverse disciplines for lectures, workshops, and research presentations.
