EGPA 2024 Conference

Dr Lars Brummel recently spoke at the annual conference of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) in Athens, where he shared findings from the LEGITIMULT project. His presentation focused on a survey investigating citizens’ perceptions of legitimacy during the COVID-19 crisis, challenging key hypotheses about how legitimacy is shaped in times of upheaval.
As a researcher specializing in the concept of legitimate governance (#WP2), Dr. Brummel examines how institutional actions and public sentiments intersect, particularly in crisis contexts.
“Crisis management performance is not only a question of objective reality but also a matter of public perceptions and sentiments” (p. 889).
